Northglenn's Closest Dedicated Bachata Studio — 20 Minutes South on I-25
Bilingual community · Evening classes · Free parking · All levels
Northglenn is one of metro Denver's most-overlooked cities, and we don't mean that as criticism. It's a real community of 38,000 people, originally built as a 1950s post-war suburb that has aged into something more interesting: working families, established homeowners, a strong Latino majority, and the kind of neighborhood character that newer suburbs don't have. What Northglenn doesn't have is a dedicated bachata studio — and a lot of Northglenn residents want one.
The drive from Northglenn to our studio at 950 Jersey St is about 20 minutes via I-25 south. From the heart of Northglenn near Webb Park or the Rec Center, you're on the highway in under five minutes and at our exit (Colorado Blvd) shortly after. Even from the eastern parts of Northglenn near Washington St, you're looking at 20–22 minutes door to door.
Here's something specific to Northglenn: nearly 4 in 10 residents are Hispanic, and that demographic isn't served well by Denver's English-only dance studios. We are explicitly a bilingual studio. Diego teaches in English with Spanish whenever it helps, the music is mostly in Spanish (it's bachata — it has to be), and a large part of our community speaks Spanish at home. If you've felt like Denver's "cultural" offerings don't actually include your culture, this is a different kind of place.
Northglenn is compact compared to Thornton or Aurora, so the drive variations are simpler:
From central Northglenn (near Webb Park or 104th Ave): Onto I-25 south at the 104th interchange, exit Colorado Blvd, you're at the studio. About 18–20 minutes in evening traffic.
From east Northglenn (near Washington St): Washington St south is a great alternative to the highway. About 22 minutes through stoplights but no white-knuckle interstate driving. Many of our older Northglenn students prefer this route.
From west Northglenn (near Federal Heights border): Take 84th Ave east to I-25, then south. About 20 minutes.
Free parking: Studio lot at the building. After driving in from Northglenn, the last thing you need is a parking puzzle. We made sure you don't have one.
For many of our Northglenn students, bachata isn't foreign at all. It's the music at family parties, the songs at quinceañeras, the dance you've seen tios and tias do at every wedding. The question isn't "what is bachata?" The question is: "how do I dance it better than I do at the parties?"
That's exactly what we teach. The body movement, the timing, the turns that you've seen on Instagram and wondered how people learned. The connection with a partner that goes beyond just shuffling on the dance floor. Many of our Latino students arrive comfortable with the basic step and progress fast through intermediate and sensual styles. If you've been "dancing bachata" at family parties for years, this is where you actually learn to dance bachata.
Northglenn families often come together — spouses, sometimes adult parents and adult kids. Bachata works at any age. Some of our most consistent students are couples in their 50s who decided their kids were old enough that they could finally do something for themselves on a Tuesday night. The 20-minute drive becomes a date drive.
For anyone who hasn't taken structured classes before, even if you've danced at parties. Step, timing, turns, partner connection done correctly.
Combinations, body movement, musicality. For students with consistent practice.
The modern style with body waves and intricate connection. The bachata you see on Instagram.
Bachata fused with Brazilian zouk. Flowing head movement, dips, creative musicality.
One-on-one. Great for quinceañera preparation, wedding first dances, or focused improvement.
First week free. No card, no commitment. Just come learn.
Claim Your Free Week →English-first, with Spanish woven throughout. Diego is fully bilingual and explains in whichever language helps. We have students who only speak English, students who only speak Spanish, and many who mix. Nobody is excluded. The music itself is in Spanish, so you'll absorb dance vocabulary in both languages either way.
The honest answer: yes, for the first class. Even people who've danced socially for years often have habits that need to be unlearned for partner work with strangers in a class setting. Come to one beginner class so Diego can see your level, then he'll tell you whether to stay or jump up to intermediate. That first class is part of your free week anyway.
Absolutely. We have students from 18 to 65+, and our oldest students are some of our most consistent. Bachata is low-impact and adaptable to any energy level. Some Northglenn families come three generations — grandparents, parents, adult kids — and they all dance with each other and with other students. It's genuinely heartwarming.
20 minutes each way is a real commitment, but most of our Northglenn students say it stops feeling far after the first month. The class becomes the highlight of their week, the music carries them home, and the drive on I-25 north at 10 PM is empty and easy. Many turn it into a routine that includes dinner with classmates before or after.
Drop-in is $15. A 10-class package is $180 (works out to $18/class, valid 2 months). Monthly unlimited is $200 — if you come 3+ times a week, it's the best value. The first week is always free.
A studio that speaks your language and plays your music. Come see what that feels like.
