Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely not! About 60% of our students come without a partner. We rotate partners during class so everyone gets to practice with different people. This actually helps you become a better, more adaptable dancer. If you prefer to stick with one partner, that's perfectly fine too!
Yes! Everyone starts somewhere, and bachata is one of the most beginner-friendly dances. Our instructors break down every movement step-by-step, and we repeat patterns until everyone feels comfortable. Remember, even our best dancers were beginners once!
You're in good company! Many of our students initially felt the same way. Dance is actually a great way to build confidence in a structured, supportive environment. You don't need to be outgoing - just willing to try. Our community is incredibly welcoming and understanding.
Most students feel comfortable with basic social dancing after 6-8 classes. You'll learn enough patterns and fundamentals to enjoy a full song. The key is consistent practice - students who attend weekly progress much faster than those who come sporadically.
We have students from 18 to 75! Most are between 25-45, but age is truly just a number in dance. We group classes by skill level, not age, so you'll be learning with people at your same dance level regardless of age.
Even better - your first class is completely FREE! We believe the best way to know if you'll enjoy bachata is to try it. Watching is allowed, but we encourage participation because it's much more fun and you'll get a true feel for the experience.
No worries! While we follow a progressive curriculum, each class reviews previous material before adding new patterns. You can also attend a different level's class in the same week as a makeup. Our instructors are happy to help you catch up before or after class.
Yes! Bachata is excellent cardio that doesn't feel like exercise. You'll burn 300-500 calories per hour while having fun. It improves coordination, balance, and core strength. Many students have lost weight and improved their fitness without even trying!
